If you’ve attended our live chapter meetings recently you’ve seen that we’re continuing to grow, and we’ve had many requests to open new chapters across the metro. There’s only so much time in the day, so our abilities to expand are being driven by a specific need, which seems to be overwhelming new board leader training.

Many leaders have asked us for such training, and we recognize the need. So we are going to open a chapter at the New Brighton Community Center on January 6.  For the first three months of the new year, we’re going to devote the space to an evening class for new board leaders, or even for those who just need a little refresher. The course is free and runs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on January 6.  After that, we’ll likely convert the New Brighton location to a more typical chapter cadence.

The course is comprehensive and includes these topics:

1. The Homeowner Association, Laws Affecting HOAs, and HOA Governing Documents

2. HOA Board Authority, Fiduciary Duties, and HOA Management

3. Homeowner Rights, Protections, and Obligations

4. HOA Meetings, Elections, and Recordkeeping

5. HOA Budget, Assessments, Collections, Contracts, and Financial Records

6. HOA Maintenance, Reserves, and Insurance

7. HOA Community Living

A more detailed description and the event address is located on Eventbrite when you register. Please RSVP to let us know you’re coming. Attendance is free for HOALN members.
