Fox 9 in Minneapolis jumped into the media fray and covered the Lakeville Avonlea Townhome Association story about their roof replacement project that assessed homeowners $17K recently. The reporter stands in the street, looks up to the gleaming roofs and wonders “where all the damage is.” Of course, it goes without saying that such damage assessments really should be left to the pros, not to local TV stand-up reporters.

The reporter also did not seem to seek out a board member for comment on the issue. What is their side? On Channel 5, which covered this story ad nauseam, they at least talked to the president of the HOA who indicated that this project was well communicated. More media drumbeats on us big ole bad HOAs…
