Well today is my birthday, and the Eagan chapter meeting was so generous today during our live meeting that they all signed a birthday card for me. Chapter members are some of the most wonderful people — we certainly appreciate them.

And we all know as HOA Leaders, being on a board comes with some challenges, and little such appreciation. Apparently, that’s now been proven that the challenges are the same no matter who you are, even if you’re a star.

Turns out Mila Kunis, the actress who was the star of That 70s Show back in the day is now a leader in her HOA.  She’s married to Ashton Kutcher, and that means her HOA sits in the very posh Beverly Hills.

“I don’t know if this is a hobby, but I’m the head of the Homeowners Association in our neighborhood,” she told the outlet. “I take the complaints. If you have a complaint about someone’s trash or if you have a noise complaint, you complain to me.”

I’m sure we all have our issues with residents, and often we serve as the compliant department. Ms. Kunis is no different:

“All people do is complain. All I get is complaints all day long,” Kunis said during an appearance on the “TODAY” show. “No one ever goes, ‘You know what? Thank you so much,’ for anything ever.”

Ah, the joys of being in charge. She actually seems like a normal person though, despite her name recognition.

“I wake up every day at 6:15. First thing I do is turn my alarm off. My husband either wakes up at 5:30 and works out, or I’ll give him an extra hour of sleep,” she told WSJ. “I make myself a cup of coffee and make the kids their breakfast and lunch, then Ashton takes them to the bus. It’s very laid-back.”

If she’s looking for appreciation, she’s likely not to find it in HOA land. But we appreciate her giving it a go. You can read the article HERE.
