The MCIOA bill under consideration by the Minnesota State Legislature has been scheduled for a hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee for today, Friday, April 4, 2025. You can find the documents HERE. Given all the other bills that are up for review during this meeting, it is sure to be a Friday marathon session. It does not appear that public testimony will be heard.

While these amendments are fairly new and difficult to digest due to the way they are written, it appears that some things have changed from the original authoring of the bill. But only slight improvements at best. One of the major issues that dramatically affects property management companies, the provision that says such companies cannot earn more than $2K per year per HOA, is still in place in the amendment. This obviously has major negative implications to the industry.
