Each month this year we’ve running Pop Up Surveys, which focused on a variety of HOA related topics. In July, we asked about HOA landscaping project and revealed the answers at the July chapter meetings. The survey corresponded with an excellent presentation made by Christopher Gonzalez of Gonzo Bros Landscaping, one of our fine HOALN sponsors. If you missed it or want to share it with a board member or two, you can watch his presentation HERE.
In Pop-Up 8, we asked HOAs a series of questions about landscaping projects over the past two years. Not surprisingly, more than two-thirds of the HOAs who responded (73) said that they had a special landscaping project completed since 2024. See how your HOA compares to the following data:

Below is a breakdown the percentage of the type of landscape projects completed, with landscape beds being the most frequently chosen (32%) type.

We asked what type of firm completed the project. The majority was outside contractors, and surprising, association volunteers accounting for some of the work.

Most HOAs had their project in the landscape budget (77%), while some reported it being unplanned.

Most HOAs reported satisfactory results, while there were a few that were “not so much.” Maybe the ones who used volunteers?

Our current Pop Up Survey #9 is about HOA fees. Watch for it in your Sunday e-blast.
