The good folks at J&W Asphalt and Benchmark Concrete did a nice job of presenting to our chapters last month about trip hazards. Why should anyone care about this issue? Because boards are on the hook to ensure that safety issues are mitigated at their HOA properties to avoid injuries of residents and pesky lawsuits, thereof. It’s amazing in my own HOA how often we find trip hazards that appear on concrete and asphalt surfaces after a hard winter. For example, when a concrete pad has lifted over the winter on a sidewalk or driveway, we typically look at 1/2″ inch as a safety issue that needs correction. Boards need to stay on top of this and not kick the proverbial maintenance can down the road.

J&W Asphalt and Benchmark are now offering a promotion that could help our HOA boards who are suffering from similar issues.

I’ve included their information below. Totally up to you if you want to take them up on it, so it’s here as a convenient service to help solve a potential problem.
