New HOA board leader training

If you’re new to your board (welcome!) or if you’ve been on a board but have had little training (you’re not alone!), the HOA Leadership Network is offering a free 90-minute live course at the New Brighton Community Center on January 6. It’s an evening course that starts at 6 p.m. to accommodate more people who may work or can’t make our daytime meetings.

As a new or existing leader, there are plenty of issues for boards to know more about, including financial matters, contract management, maintenance issues, insurance, board governance, homeowner rights and so much more.  We’ve put together this course to efficiently cover many of the issues that seem to come up a lot among our network members.

Here’s a glimpse at how our course is structured, which includes 7 sections during the 90 minute session:

  1. The Homeowner Association, Laws Affecting HOAs, and HOA Governing Documents
  2. HOA Board Authority, Fiduciary Duties, and HOA Management
  3. Homeowner Rights, Protections, and Obligations
  4. HOA Meetings, Elections, and Recordkeeping
  5. HOA Budget, Assessments, Collections, Contracts, and Financial Records
  6. HOA Maintenance, Reserves, and Insurance
  7. HOA Community Living

It will be well worth your time, and after all, what else is there to do on a January night? Might as well learn something!  It’s free for HOALN members.
