We have been rolling out a series of Pop-Up Surveys this year, and the results of our second survey are now available. For those playing along, we take the surveys prior to each chapter month and then reveal the results at actual chapter meetings. Now that we are done with January events, we have included the latest results below.

This survey revolved around trees and tree care at HOAs. Ron Zillmer of Legacy-Trees gave a wonderful presentation about tree care, and he is also offering a special discount to HOALN members who are looking for tree replacements on their property.  Feel free to reach out to him HERE.

The survey results are interesting. We suspected that tree care was something that HOAs often forget about or avoid altogether, and the results are decidedly mixed on that issue. You be the judge and compare the results to your own HOA.

First question revolved around tree inventories. Did your HOA conduct one to log the type, age and condition of trees? Out of 162 HOAs reporting, a majority reported “yes”:

Next question wondered about a replacement plan. Not surprisingly, there were more “no’s” than “yes’s”:

What about preventive treatments on trees? Most reported yes:

And most HOAs who took the survey are spending far less than they should. The majority are below 5% of their operating budgets:

We have a new Pop-Up Survey on irrigation systems that is active now for our Spring Startup Series that begins in February.  Feel free to complete it HERE.
