As you’ve likely heard, SF1750, which seeks to “reform” HOAs/CICs in Minnesota, is now headed to the floor of the State Senate. I talked with Aaron Brooksby from SJJ Law on our video podcast and you’re encouraged to watch it HERE. It gives a good overview of the flaws in this legislation.
We need our network to get involved. Contact your state senator and other legislators to voice your opposition to SF1750, which is now headed to the Senate floor for debate. This legislation is not good for HOAs, HOA boards, or the HOA residents that it is designed to protect.
- Best Approach: Request an in-person meeting with your state legislator(s). This can be done by contacting their office directly and requesting a meeting. You can also request a meeting via Zoom or conference call
- At a minimum: Write a letter, in your own words, why you are against this legislation. Use examples of how HOA boards are already working hard to do the right thing. Let them know that this legislation will make “affordable” housing more unaffordable than ever.
