You can’t make this stuff up. At least not fast enough.  From Lake County, Florida, WESH TV News:

A new video from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office shows the moment an HOA leader rammed his truck into the van of a home improvement company while they were inside. According to deputies, this all happened after a confrontation over soliciting in the gated Plantation at Leesburg neighborhood last month.

Geography lesson: Lake County is near bustling and overpopulated Orlando.

Many HOAs are gated in Florida, so access is often limited and often controlled. But to what degree is another issue. In this case, some home improvement company was going door to door in the Plantation at Leesburg HOA where there were clear signs that no solicitors were welcomed. Apparently, the “HOA Leader” took it into his own hands to chase the company’s truck:

The situation escalated when [71-year-old Gerard] Tucker allegedly began chasing the employee down the street in his truck at speeds of 20 to 30 miles per hour. The employee managed to get into the company van, which had four other people inside, but Tucker allegedly continued pursuing them.

Tucker identified himself to authorities as the HOA’s vice president and was previously agitated by door knockers in his neighborhood.

Things got worse. There’s a video that shows the Tucker pickup impacting the company van.

In the video, a truck can be seen driving on the wrong side of the road, entering the van’s path. The video from LCSO does not have audio, so the confrontation between Tucker and the group cannot be heard.
