If you’ve lived in an HOA the past five years, you’re likely among those who have experienced the financial pain of increasing insurance premiums, due largely to hail and storm related events in MN, TX, FL and more recently California (e.g. Palisades fire) as insurance providers spread the pain. And now word comes that homeowners outside of HOAs are experiencing similar spikes, so it appears no roof is safe.
In our new edition of “HOA Today,” I talked to one of our sponsors and frequent visitors to the HOA leadership Network, Eric Skarnes, who is president of Insurance Warehouse.
There has been a lot of shifting of insurance providers of late, which is causing some confusion among HOAs and property managers. Eric clarifies the difference between admitted vs non-admitted insurance carriers, and talks about how this new addition to the market could be good for homeowners going forward.
Eric is also a featured speaker at all chapter meetings this May at the HOA Leadership Network. Check our schedule at www.hoalnet.com/events and search for the May schedule to learn more. Watch the whole interview below.
