SF 1750 is the proposed legislation under consideration by the State Senate to provide reform legislation on HOAs. If you attended the Eagan chapter meeting on Tuesday, you heard from Finn Jacobsen of SJJ Law with an update on that bill and its house companion (HF1268) working through the legislature.
The interest level in this proposed legislation is, to say the least, “through the HOA roof.” There are so many people set to testify on Thursday afternoon that senate staff has asked that people submit their testimony in writing, but personal appearances will still be considered. Two minutes is all they’ll give for each testifier who shows up on time.
I am planning on attending and testifying in person, although I don’t relish the thought of sitting in a conference room on an afternoon that predicts highs in the 60s in March. But we all make sacrifices for the good of the order.
I know that Finn Jacobsen will testify in person, and I’m sure to see some of our network members too. Once the testimony is done, and assuming the live stream feed is recorded, I’ll provide an update. — Mark Foster
