HOA Leadership Network Bloomington MeetingOur network members have expressed great satisfaction with our new spring series of speakers in the chapter meetings, which focuses on ways to get your HOA properties ready for the growing season. Even with snow threatening the metro (again), board members must start turning their attention to happier thoughts, like green grass, smooth running irrigation systems and new coats of paint on trim, stucco and other surfaces. Of course, it also comes with a full dose of reality: What needs repair after the long winter?

The Bloomington chapter meeting on March 20 (Wells Fargo Plaza, Bloomington) features John Bristol of FCP Services, who continues his series on the trouble spots to look for on surfaces in your HOA. He’s been pointing out that trouble is often lurking on window and door trims, siding, stucco and myriad locations that if left unchecked, will create expensive damage later.

We will also feature a presentation from Kyle Mikesh, from Kaeham Construction and Restoration. Kyle will speak on the punch list items that boards need to consider on their spring walk-arounds. It’s amazing what you might spot when you look in the right places for damage that may have occurred over the winter. He’ll show examples of what to keep your eye on when inspecting your HOA properties.

Of course, we’ll also have a briefing from Finn Jacobsen of SJJ Law, who’s helping us to keep an eye on critical “HOA reform” legislation moving through the state House and Senate.  You won’t want to miss this important update.
